Sort of like this video is showing, you can never have a real answer for this debate. We have 50+ years of Superman comics that give loads of examples & definitive figures of how strong & fast he is. Dragonball (& One Punch Man) can't compare on that front.

From watching the shows & reading the manga, Goku (& Saitama) look to be head & shoulders above Supes, but that's just conjecture. We've seen Superman destroy planets with a punch & we've seen Superman be nearly as fast as the speed of light. We can only imply Goku (& Saitama) can do the same, if not more.

Except we have nothing to base those assumptions off of. Goku has not achieved those kinds of feats, and we can't just assume that he can. It has never been implied that Goku is able to destroy a planet with a punch, and it sure as hell has never been implied that he's able to survive the force of a supernova.

The feat in question involves Superman flying high-speed through a dead planet, splitting it in half. The guys in Dragon Ball have been destroying mountains & terrains from early on in the series. It's well within reason that, if breathing in space weren't an issue, that a lot of the Z fighters could do the same. Add in the fact that during Goku's fight with Beerus, it was said that the shockwaves from their exchanged blows could be felt galaxies away, there's no doubt about it.

& I'm not sure about the supernova thing, but like I said, conjecture. Vegeta's Gallick Gun from the Saiyan Saga was strong enough to destroy the Earth. As he & Goku are now infinitely more powerful than they were back then, an attack like that wouldn't phase them at all.

Ya know, I know folks are gonna bitch and moan one way or another on this debate until the end of time, so I'll just say this. As far as I can tell, Goku could never beat Superman because of one simple thing. The Sun. Superman can keep going as long as the sun shines, and Goku has a finite amount of energy. Hell, even taking reality breaking speed and planet moving strength into account, that one simple fact still remains.

One thing to remember is that Goku went faster than light back in the original Dragon Ball. In his fight against Tenshinhan, he countered the Solar Flare or "Taiyo-Ken" by running over to where Master Roshi was standing, grabbed his sun glasses, and returned to his original position. All before the light of the Taiyo-Ken could reach his original position.

well 1mil kilomiters in 177 days is 411 km an hour then he faster after training and then all those multiplications your gonna destroy that speed

In Dragon Ball Super Goku moves so fast that even while time is stopped, he moves fast enough to counter the person who stops time, by combining Super Saiyan Blue( official name is not SSGSS) and Kaio-Ken! And to top it off it looks pretty cool :)

I understand your viewpoint, but the fact that Goku is still able to move during Hit's ability means that Hit does NOT stop time. He slows time to a nearly imperceptible point. Goku's heightened speed during (SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!) SS Blue+Kaioken meant that he was fast enough to counteract Hit's slowing of time. Goku himself explains it that way during the fight.

The problem is that Goku gets stronger and stronger as the series goes on to the point that he didn't even need to go along Snake Way anymore. He was basically at his weakest in DBZ during his trip on Snake Way, but by the time he got to Namek he would have been able to travel that same distance in maybe a few hours. But during his time on Namek he also got another boost in power even before reaching his Super Saiyan form. That isn't even going into all the training he does between bad guys.

The problem really is we really don't have a scale. The boost in speed is not perpendicular to the boost in strength (which we still don't have definitive numbers if you don't like the 40 Tons bit). Is Planet Namek as big as Earth? Bigger than Earth? Smaller than Earth? No real numbers to actually do so without making up something.

Heck, looking at the recent Dragon Ball Super. SSGSS Kaioken x10 Goku can move in 0.5 seconds when previous forms couldn't move in 0.2. I hear outlier from some of the fellow researchers, but this is the only other speed feat with numbers in story. And if this is indeed the max of Goku's speed, then he is definitely not going to beat Superman anytime soon.

Except Goku also has Instant Transmission, which is instant and can use in combat, which he does against Cell a few times. Also Superman may be able to fly in a straight line super fast, but in one comic he is fighting Wonder Woman and when actually fighting, she claims he is slower. Goku on the other hand is able to fight at super speed.

Teleporting is not a speed feat. It's just a part of his arsenal.

They call it Super Saiyajin Blue! Super Sayajin God Super Saiyajin was just temporary. And the movement in the time leap .5 is reality breaking, because the guy stops time for everyone but himself. Yet somehow Goku was able to move and strike him.

...ah yes, they should have been using the DBZ scholarly articles published yearly by the royal academy of sciences. You realize when coming up with factual arguments there needs to be something that can be verified and proven. If they have a specified length of something as well as a specified time in which something took place, you can get velocity from that. Since it's a cartoon, not a lot of actual metrics are given for speed, distances, or time anything takes place in so arguments must be inferred from what little actual data is given to work with.

Saying, "well he's clearly much faster" is meaningless, prove it. That's how science works. Since Goku can teleport his speed isn't even really relevant, the reason why the Goku vs Superman fight always ends up going to superman is because Goku has died...numerous times, and always has limits (he exceeds those limits each time he fails but it still requires him failing to get to stronger). Superman has no well defined limits to his power (as long kryptonite or a red sun isn't involved) and self imposes limits on himself so he doesn't hurt people he cares about. People are argue this keep ignoring this conclusion that they reached in both videos.

Well I remember seeing this when I was getting ready to see Goku VS Superman and I almost would have raged from this one but lucky for me, I had lack of knowledge of DBZ but at the same time, I didn't know Superman got his powers from the Sun which is like Superman 101. But since then after the episode, I started looking into characters when they entered Death Battle and I started doing blogs on here. So when I started doing blogs and I wanted to start off with Noel Vermillion from the BlazBlue series since I'm a big fan of the series and whenever I find something new like how I found out on the BlazBlue wiki and Dustloop that Noel's actually the Master Unit, Amaterasu as of Central Fiction, I just add it in to my Noel blog and I've added a bit from what I learned thanks to someone translating the Arcade Endings in Central Fiction on Dustloop but now I'm just waiting for the Console release in Japan so that someone could get the story mode translated and I'll be able to get Noel's backstory as Amaterasu and maybe her powers as the Master Unit but if I can't then I don't mind waiting until the game gets released over here in North America.
