Actually, there is a way to get both Lycanroc in one game without needing to trade. In Vast Poni Canyon on Poni Island, head into the grass just south of the first cave exit, you can find Lycanroc. If it's daytime in-game, you'll find Midday Lycanroc. If it's nighttime in-game, you'll find Midnight Lycanroc. I should know. I have Moon, and I was able to catch a Midday Lycanroc in that area.

Mimikyu grew to be my favourite Alola Region Pokemon too. The instant I saw it's little shrine in the Ghost trial my heart melted and I knew I was immediately coming back to catch one. Poor little thing needs some love.

    Love you, Mimikyu <3

I enjoyed this list, and I can't complain about any of the entries even though I don't feel the same about the majority. But, because I can, here's my personal top ten list for my favorite pokemon from this generation, (even though no one cares.) I'm also aware that my top choices are based on combat capabilities as much as anything.....

10: Pyukumuku - A pure utility pokemon that looks terrible, and has no use outside of being the start of a line up or a support in a competetive team. And it's name is just as weird as it is. It will also literally die of starvation/dehydration if people don't pick them up from the beach and throw them back in the ocean. I still love it regardless, and definitely plan on training one at some point, for the very reasons that make it such a weird pokemon.

9: Pikipek - On this list for sheer cuteness. I caught one immediately into the game, but eventually dropped it after it evolved.

8: Golisopod - I'll admit that it's a pretty awesome looking pokemon. I do consider it's ability more of a downside than an upside in some regards, however, since it makes it a bit annoying to use during the times when you don't want it to switch out. It is a powerhouse, however, and it's signature attack can be a force to be reckoned with and takes full advantage of it's ability by only being usable the first turn it's thrown out.

7: Solgaleo/Lunala - No spoilers here, but let's just say that these legendaries deserve to be on this list for story reasons.

6: Silvally - The poor man's Arceus, able to be any type that the player chooses, and has the signature wide variety of attacks that comes with being a normal type pokemon originally. Also, after you know it's story, you can't help but be sad and heartwarmed by this pokemon that only evolves through friendship, shedding it's restraining face mask to assist you with it's full power.

5: Alolan Ninetails - Nothing to say here but that it and it's preevolved form are both absolutely adorable, and they make an excellent part of any team, even if they don't have the raw stats that some other choices do.

4: Decidueye - Have to 100% agree with this pokemon being on the list. Pretty good typing and some of the coolest attack animations out of any pokemon. It's Robin Hood if he was a ghost owl.

3: Ribombee - An adorable fairy/bug type that packs a hefty punch. While it might not have the defensive stats to survive much, it makes for a great party member, and shows some use in double, (and triple if they weren't removed from the game), battles. It's signature attack is a special ball of pollen that can absolutely devastate enemy pokemon, or be used to heal ally pokemon. Also, when something evolves from a pokemon named Cutiefly, you know before you even see it that this thing is going to be one of the most adorable pokemon ever, and it doesn't disappoint in the least.

2: Mimikyu - I'll agree, this pokemon is both adorable, and heartbreaking. And, from a gameplay standpoint, it has one of the best abilities in the game. It's simple, but that ability to take a hit once per battle without taking damage, coupled with it's high speed stat and hefty attack stat, means that most pokemon you face will go down before they can even hurt it. It also gets a good variety of moves to pick from, so long as you stay away from the trap that is picking an electric attack that uses it's low special attack stat. Still not my favorite though, even though it's one of my most used pokemon. That honor goes to...

1: Araquanid - Same typing and similar stats as Golisopod. Where it surpases it though in my opinion, is that while it may have similar stats, it has single-handedly one of the best abilities in the game, though in a different regard than Mimikyu. It's ability makes it so that it's immune to burns, and takes 50% damage from fire attacks, but also has a hidden trait to it that doubles the base power of water type moves. This means that with this ability, attacks as weak as Bubble Beam have more strength than Hydro Pump. To make it even more awesome, particularly in the double battle environment, it can learn the attack Entrainment which allows it to change the ability of it's target to match it. Water attacks with this ability are powerful enough that typing barely matters, and because it's stats are balanced with only a slight preference to physical, it can hit with either special or physical attacks depending on what you want. Couple that with high defensive stats as well, and you have a great frontline pokemon for dealing with the most pesky of your opponents. Also, I love that it's attack animation for special attacks is basically that it points at what it wants to die. It might be a weird water spider, but it's adorable in it's own way.

Haha ironically Mimikyu actually hates pikachu with a passion CyDyLdQXEAUhcuL.jpg

That actually fits. It's jealous of Pikachu's fame and dresses as it to try and make friends. Obviously, not all Mimikyu are going to achieve that love, so it's logical that if they fail to get friends or affection, they'll feel intense resentment for the thing that is preventing them from getting love.

I love my Incineroar. Partially as it has saved my butt more times than I can count, LITERALLY fighting past where it should have fainted, but because of the lore, it is the exact OPPOSITE of a fighting type. Classified as the heel pokemon, it makes no sense until you figure out that heel is a wrestling term that goes with face. face wrestlers are ones like John Cena, who enter the arena to cheers and play by the rules, aka the "Hero" wrestlers, while heel wrestlers are the opposite, entering to jeers and breaking whatever rules they want to, aka the "Villain" wrestlers. combine that with the fact that a closer translation for dark type could be evil type, and you have an evil flaming cat wrestlers that plays by its own rules.

Personally, I'd disagree with Incineroar (Not only am I Team Water, but I just thought it was a really boring design and felt like they just made a fighting-fire, saw people were sick of it, and changed it to dark-fire), but the rest I agree with. I personally would have added Silvally, mainly for it's extremely interesting non-evolution evolution from Type: Null.

EDIT: Love how the OP edited his post from saying something along the lines of "the game is absolutely shit, and the starter pokemon are too" to just complaining about the starter pokemon.....
