Mad props for including Rayman 2 and Ape Escape, but the lack of Portal and Prince of Persia is criminal. CRIMINAL

Not sure about Prince of Persia since I never played or looked into that much. But....Portal isn't a Platformer.

Of course it is! It's a first person platformer puzzle game. What else could it be? An RPG? RTS? MOBA

Super Mario Galaxy meant everything to me from its conception to completion. It's my favorite Wii game AND one of my favorite games ever. I'm overjoyed that it's #1!

I've yet to play Spyro and the Jak & Daxter series. The new Ratchet & Clank game is awesome, though I think I prefer A Crack in Time. But I can't deny Super Mario Galaxy. Just doing a long jump on a small little planetoid for the longest time is one of the greatest feats to do in a video game.

YES! Rayman 2 made it to number 3! I was afraid it wouldn't make it. That alone makes this list great. Great job guys! I think you had really solid reasoning for all your picks. I really need to play more 3D platformers though haha.

As a side note, I think the underrated SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom ranks up high too. One of the best 3D platformers (and licensed games) ever

Gotta say, didn't expect that #1. Did you write this list Shaun? I would've personally put DK64 before Conker. Regardless of which game you prefer, I'd say DK is still more of a platformer than Bad Fur Day.

Oh, and whenever this goes up on Youtube, the mystery video should totally be Nick's and Chad's Let's Play of Banjo-Kazooie.

Originally had DK at No. 10. Lot of the office opted for Conker instead. Yes, I write just about every top ten now, even if I don't voice them. If I need help or haven't played something, I get some help from others in the office on occasion, and we have fun with it!

I actually didn't expect that #1, but now that I think about it I agree. Nothing quite hit that magic for me that Mario Galaxy did when I first booted it up and heard that gorgeous orchestral track.

A good list for the most part. The only two I'd question being here are Ratchet and Clank and Jak 3. As Nick said Ratchet and Clank focuses more on combat with platforming as an enhancer for that. As for Jak, the first game I think would've been a better choice since it focuses heavily on platformer mechanics while the rest of the series does kind of the same thing as Ratchet and focuses on combat first with platforming being second. I'm really surprised to see Sly Cooper wasn't on here since that entire series is such a platforming heavy game. Oh well, they can't all be on the list I guess.

Sly didn't quite make the cut for me because it was a bit of a slower game with the stealth aspects. (I loved sly), but a lot of his platforming was more visually interesting than anything (climbing pipes, etc.) Great games though.

Personally I prefer Super Mario 3D World over both of the Galaxy games but each to their own.

Personally I feel like the original Jak & Daxter was better than Jak 2. Granted I've never played Jak 3 so I can't contest that. But it seems like the series is more or less on permanent lock down until Naughty Dog gets out of their grim and gritty phase.

Mario Galaxy's orchestra and scenery alone would put it on this list. Not many games can have something as amazing as Melty Molten's lava column planets.
