the only thing i would add to the list, and it would have to be top 3 if not #1 for me, is -

people who get on the internet, and start going around to every: video, website, forum, or anything else related to a game they supposedly hate, and starts yelling at everyone how they are wrong for enjoying it, screams at everyone who comments, makes 40 accounts and just starts spam posting how they are the only person allowed to have opinions and how their word is law because they are a god on the earth and everyone else is just a retarded farm animal... (for example see anything destiny related)

Some other pet peeves that could have made the list:

-Rage quitters.  Need I say more?

-People who make levels in Mario Maker with the intent that they aren't supposed to be beaten.  This is especially annoying with the 100 Mario challenge.  I STILL haven't beaten expert once, and the game has been out for a year.

-People who use glitches/bugs to cheat and say it's an advanced technique (such as wavedashing in Melee).  The developers didn't deliberately program it in, so it's cheating if you use it.

-Developers not knowing the difference between difficulty and fairness.  I seriously stopped playing DKC Tropical Freeze for over a month because it got so unfair in the later worlds.  It's possible to make a game difficult and fair at the same time.

-People who complain that a game is too easy.  A game doesn't need to be hard to be good.

-People who complain when a developer tries something different with a popular franchise.  Change isn't always bad.

Oh god you went straight in with the memory card. 10 year old Sophie, having played 3 hours on her brand new ps2, going to the shop as fast as dad could possibly drive and hoping against all hope the game won't have switched off by the time they get back. It had. That was a hard lesson to learn.

Wireless controllers are great, but wired controllers have way less latency and don't ever run out of batteries.

Number 1 is literally the business model of IGN. Also, as for number 5, some of us just wish that some modern practices would die. You know, things like Day 1 DLC, necessary DLC, Online only, Multiplayer only, online multiplayer only, every other game being a crappy FPS, completed and built in content being locked behind a paywall. Ya know, the truly terrible stuff. We love being able to save, we love a good number of modern advances, but you have to draw the line somewhere. I mean, can't I just buy a complete game? Besides, why should I subscribe to a service to play online? If I already have an internet connection, why can't I just use that?

You're not paying for an extra internet connection, but for a server service and "extra stuff I never really use". Even if you're paying for your own server somewhere that can somehow talk to current consoles(Which is possible), you would still have to network with your friends to get them on the server itself and manage to either fake a LAN connection(for games that still support it, I really wish most games would still support this) or use a custom and ,most likely illegal to own, network code. I can remember when games themselves ran the servers and it was usually awful, and sometimes they evenmade you pay for that horrid 56-k modem service. In the end you would still be paying for a network to play on. I won't even go into the dissemination of patches, day one or other wise.

@Boots3290 What, you're telling me I can't just find a friend online by asking their username? I mean, let's face it, it's still locking a feature behind a paywall, which is even WORSE when the game only works online. Worse still when it's online multiplayer only. Nintendo got it right, that's all I'm saying.

@g1Lizardguy So you're looking for a peer-to-peer hosting system? There was a time when games used this very system all the time. The community has since turned "host privileges" into a running joke. On top of this, router porting was a far bigger problem for people using this system(which is a horribly complicated problem to those who don't know much about routers). Nintendo doesn't charge for their service much in the way Playstation used to not charge. Traffic and data on those servers is still fairly minimal. Yes they have a couple of games that utilize what servers they can, but I think the system is a bit behind the times. I imagine Nintendo will be updating that whole system sometime soon and start charging. Those games that are multiplayer only are built around the network they are on. So the real problem there is what community do you want to play with? Im not saying console networks are fantastic but if you want at least a slightly regulated server, then you go with the service where some of the fee goes towards moderation. If you don't like the idea of multiplayer only games then simply don't buy them. I don't, I like my friends but they aren't the reason I play games. As for the single player game that only works with an internet connection, not many cases of that happening. The one I can remember got sorted out pretty quickly and you didn't need a paid-for-service for that. Only the internet connection you already had.

I can go on and on why paid server service is perfect for what we have right now. I doubt however that anyone wants to read a wall of text. This infrastructure will likely change again when the tech that powers it becomes old and cheap anyway.

@Boots3290 And that system worked just fine. So once again, why do I have to pay for what I can already do? I mean, you said it yourself, I'm not paying for the internet, I'm paying for something I shouldn't have to pay for. As for routers, well, you can read up on that stuff all over the place. All the worlds info is at our fingertips. As for "Host privileges", why are you friends with that jerk? I mean, if the host is that bad, don't let them host, leave his server and start a new one. As for the payed servers, it's really offering little more than Facebook offers. It's paying for Facebook with better games. That is my problem.

@g1Lizardguy The peer-to-peer system was just fine for you? It was completely riddled with connection problems. The "host privileges"  I mentioned, deals with latency. The host will always have the advantage. It has nothing to do with being a jerk. This system was hard to regulate as well. Malicious people could set up their game to serious damage to your own game as soon as you connect.

But, I would rather not fill this entire page with long winded diatribes, so I think I am done with this conversation. GG

@Boots3290 So you don't have a good internet connection? That sucks. I mean, get a long wire and plug directly into your router, how hard is that? As for malicious people, why not just make your game "Invite only" or "Password protected". Seriously, tell your friends the password, and keep people random weirdos off. Team Fortress 2 does that, and yes it does fit 2 of my pet peeves into it, but that's off subject.

OH MY GOD! Why did you have to bring the controller thing to my attention? I just spent five minutes with a knife scraping out the seams. That's disgusting. If you'll excuse me, I have more controllers to detail.
