Too bad this only really focuses on what are seen in the Total War games, because if you consider the Warhammer Fantasy setting as a whole, many of these would be nowhere near my list. If you think about it, Rat Ogres are fleas when compared to monstrosities such as Daemon Princes, Keepers of Tzeentch, or any other greater daemon of the four chaos gods. Then there's Others like Chaos Dragons which I find scarier than the Shaggoths. Of course probably the one creature you never want to face ever would be Archaeon, the Lord of End Times, who quite literally ended the world (in the latest storyline to allow for a world reboot but still.

And the hellpit abominations explode into another unit of rats when they die... so even more messed up

Captain Marvel (DC Comics version) VS. Captain Marvel (Marvel Comics version)

    The Atom VS. Ant-Man
    Aquaman VS. Namor the Sub-Mariner
Vampirella VS. Blade – (It’s time for a Vampire BAT-tle!)

Play Vampire a lot in TW: Warhammer 1, and can confirm: varghulfs and terrorgheists are bawse... Also you kind of left out that the Unclean One is basically a minor Chaos God... IT's a Nurgling to the Nurglings of Papa Nurgle.

And lest we forget the greatest monster of all: the Emperor of Mankind.

And this is a complete random aside, since you guys have acknowledged Warhammer as a franchise: Warhammer 40k Tyranids vs Starcraft Zerg would be a LOVELY death battle...

Love that idea, though for some reason I want to see the Tyranids vs Burning Legion. But vs the Swarm would be awesome.

@AggravatedDamage, I think Carbot animations, who do the StarCrafts cartoons did a Zerg v Zerg episode, It lasted for quite awhile.

The Holy Emperor of Man is exclusive to 40K, heretic.

I agree with you Nick. I see giant spider and I'm out and screaming, "Bye! Rot in Hell!" Man, do I hate spiders.

Table top beats the game in horror, some of the stuff in sigmar is just straight out of the warp much like nurgles unclean one.

Tyranids will always and forever be my most frightening Warhammer monster. Okay, technically they're Warhammer 40k, but they're still Warhammer.

This is towards fantasy and sigmar not 40k, really they got it spot on for horrifying minus the stuff that's only in the table top that is a lot more horrifying.

Seriously, you think Nids are scarier than the warp based monstrosities that defy reality itself.

From the Plague bearers and Bloodletters to the Pink Horrors to even some of the Chaos Spawns, the ones that mutate multiple people into hideous gelatinous blobs that scream and moan in pain as they melt other people in a torrent of warpfire.

These are monsters that require planets to suffer Exterminatus and you think the Nids are the scariest. Why?

Tyranids look like bugs. Giant alien bugs, but bugs. And I have a bug problem.
