I absolutely hated The Lego Batman movie, it is honestly IMO the worst DC animated movie, it was far worse than any new 52 animated film.

Honestly I'm kind of disappointed with this list.  Most of the entires just copied and pasted the story from pre-existing comics.  All Star Superman, The Dark Knight Returns, Under the Red Hood, and so on were critically acclaimed comics that got adapted into movie form.  There are several original DC animated movies out there that are far better than some of the ones on this list that deserve recognition.

No, I completely disagree with number 1. Those movies were terrible. I almost turned them both off when I was watching them. Number 2 is WAY better and will always be the best.

No Justice League Dark, no Emerald Knights, there are so many better movies they could have added instead of making it a nearly full Batman/Superman stuff, the only saving factor is Under the Red Hood which is not a complete full Batman movie...

The Batman/Superman stuff are better movies. I like Justice League Dark and Emerald Knights a lot, but every movie on this list is just better (in my opinion anyway). The animated movies from DC are just that good. Though I don't like the Lego Batman movie much and The Dark Knight Returns isn't number 1 spot material, but that's just me.

If I were to attempt to make a top 10 DC animated movies list, I would have lots and lots of trouble cause there are so many good animated movies. Like Batman: Assault on Arkham (or as I call it, the true Suicide Squad movie) for example.

So you're saying the best DCEU movie has a better animated version from nearly ten years ago? I'm not surprised. Honestly, just do Under the Red Hood for The Batman movie already.

The average quality of DC's animated movies makes me wonder why they're bothering with live action.

I think it is mainly because other than Disney and or Pixar NO one makes as big a return on Cartoon Movies.  Plus I don't think any of these were ever theater release they were all strait to DVD or VHS (Wait I think one was but it was a very small release maybe a couple of hundred theaters in the USA)  But basically WB puts there cartoon movies out on DVD without much hype so it only reaches those who are looking for them.  If they would promote the cartoon movies and give them a little press they could release cartoon movies and rake it in.  But even though the comic book and superhero jeanra .. geanra.. jenra... however the !@#$ it is spelled... TYPE of movie has found a place in hollyweird er wood.  Cartoon movies for more mature fans just haven't been able to completely bust through yet.

The better question is how, as a production company, they're able to make such great and well received animated movies, yet they are continuously struggling to properly create even "decent" live action movies. I'm aware that in all likelyhood the teams that work on the animated projects have no interaction with the teams that handle the live action ones, but you'd think that someone, somewhere in the chain of command, would at least make an attempt to utilize some of the aspects that have clearly been working elsewhere......

Admittedly did not expect Lego Batman on this list. However, I can agree that it belongs.

Huh... I really thought Justice League Doom  and Green Lantern Emerald Knights would have made the list. I mean I wouldn't have put them in the top 5 but I'd thought one of the two would have been a solid 6 or 7.  Then again I thought No#10 should have been higher than it was too so I guess that shows what I know.  Still good list though I have 7 of the movies that made the list and have seen all 10.

I'm also shocked that Doom wasn't on. I've never watched Emerald Knights, how is it?

I liked it.  It follows Hal telling stories to a newly recruit Lantern  about other GL personnel while preparing for an enemy that threatens to destroy the planet of Oa.  You get a story about Abin Sur from Sinestro before he became a bad guy.  A story about Killawog as a GL Recruit before he became a full fledged lantern and a few other stories all while getting ready to face the big bad of the main story.

No Justice League: War, Son of Batman, Justice League vs Teen Titans, Teen Titans: Judas Contract, or any other of the New 52 animated movies? o.0

Yeah... Those movies weren't fantastic. They were good and I would recommend a watch, but not top 10 material for me.

HouseMD, I'd have to strongly disagree with that opinion... But, I guess that's all yours and mine is: an opinion.

The one where aliens are awakened on Mars and Martian Manhunter tries to contacts Superman to take them out, but proves to be too much for him to handle alone
