...or is it only scratching the surface?
Here's a good stoppin' point, I think. I'm hopping off comics for the rest of this year to work on an animated video. There will still be "Ask Doc"s every Monday, so I'll continue to post on the reg'.
Y'all wish me luck!

"What about your 3D models/animations?"
Blender 3D - highly recommended! It's free, even.
"Are you open for requests/commissions?"
Not right now, but watch me for the chance to adopt chupababies!

I can't tell ya any spoilers for the comic, but here's a cute little chupababy Theta:
It's both simple and hard, but: walk cycles. And that applies to any character model. The way someone walks is very revealing of their character, so you have to put some thought into it: pace, posture, how the arms swing, the length of the stride, the width of the stride, etc. It also involves moving most key bones of the body at once, so there's coordinating that, too - and for animating in a 3D environment, there's always the trick of how to get a character to walk convincingly along a path.

I did see! It's a bit of a tough call for me. For one, I'll have to see if I can produce something by that deadline, eh? It looks like it was designed that way on purpose, to see if the animator can keep up with a demanding production schedule.
No; I stay busy with my projects. But thank you for asking!

Well, it's been a long time since any chupa sucked a goat, but I hear on Sirca that if you spin in a circle three times and say "cabrito," a bitchin' tailgate party will magically spawn on the spot.
