"Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku!"
The great and powerful ruler of the dark future speaks here of his arch-nemesis, an mysterious and extremely skilled samurai warrior we know as...
Long ago in Feudal Japan, a young prince grew up, hearing the story of his father's victory over the mysterious entity known as Aku. However, on the day of an eclipse, the prince's life was shifted as Aku returned to defeat the Samurai Lord and conquer the world. As part of a plan in case of Aku's return, the Samurai Lord's wife had sent the prince around the world to study and prepare to save the world from Aku.
After years of training with some of the greatest warriors of the time, the prince returned to his mother, who bestow to him his father's sword, a mystical katana crafted by Odin, Ra, and Vishnu to destroy Aku. The prince traveled to Aku's palace and found his father enslaved and nearly skin and bones. He warned Jack that it was too early for him to fight Aku, but he didn't listen and continued on. Jack then confronted the sorcerer and the battle began. The prince managed to severely wound Aku, but before he could deal the final blow, Aku opened a time portal and threw Jack into it, sending him centuries into the future.
When Jack finally escaped the portal, he found himself in a dystopian future. His skills and attire would grab the attention of a group of alien teens who call him "Samurai Jack". Jack learns that Aku has stood unopposed for centuries and has conquered much of the known universe. He is then met by a group of canine archaeologists who have been enslaved by Aku. The prince introduces himself as Jack and decides to aid them. Aku, however, finds out about his return and plans to destroy the prince once and for all. He sends forth an army of robotic kill-beetles to slay the warrior and the dogs. However, Jack had prepared for the assault and destroyed the entire army by himself. This would be the begining of Jack's quest to return to his time and save the future from Aku... as well as Aku's mission to kill Jack once and for all.

Samurai Jack's sword is a Japanese Katana forged by the deities Odin, Ra, and Vishnu and from the power of righteousness within the Samurai Lord's heart. The sword has the power to cut through any mundane substance, given that there is enough force behind it, but cannot destroy equally as enchanted weapons, such as the Scotsman's Sword. While Jack does not have the strength to cut through certain metals, a sufficient strength boost or a prayer to his ancestors allows him to cut through even Adimantium. As a weapon forged from devine power and goodness, the blade is near-indestructible and stands as the only weapon capable of slaying Aku.
The only time the blade had broken was when Jack attempted to perform a ritual to create a portal to his time. However, Jack had been able to meet the gods who crafted the blade the first time and they recrafted the sword as Jack proved himself worthy to wield it.
A typically overseen tool and weapon of Jack's is his wooden sandals; aside from protecting his feet from grounded hazards, they provide him with increased power behind his kicks and can even damage metal with them on.
Jack is proficient in various other weapons from around the world and can use them if need be.
Superhuman Speed, Agility and Reflexes: Jack is shown to be extremely swift on his feet and has performed incredible feats of speed and agility, able to avoid futuristic gunfire, carve through entire armies within seconds and in one instance, defeat a team composed entirely of highly infamous and skilled bounty hunters in the time it takes for a drop of water to hit the ground.
Near-Superhuman Strength: Jack is shown to have immense physical strength despite his lean frame, able to cleanly cut through most machines with no effort and can easily throw opponents much larger than himself (although this may be due to skill more so than raw strength).
Near-Superhuman Endurance: Jack has shown many times throughout the series that he has a very high durability and has survived blows from powerful opponents and still been able to stand and fight, he also has a very high tolerance for great physical pain.
Willpower: Jack seems to possess an indomitable force of will. He is able to withstand hunger, harsh environments. His ambition to defeat Aku remains above all despite his near hopeless situation.
Combat Experience: Jack has battled numerous and various enemies, including master warriors, super-humans/mutants, robots, aliens, demons and magical/cosmic beings. All of this gives him extensive experience to utilize in combat.
Master Combatant: Jack is a master in most forms of armed and unarmed combat. His combat prowess is what has allowed him to battle and defeat a large array of powerful and extremely deadly foes. He has no skill in advance weapons such as firearms, explosives and direct-energy weapons.
Expert Horseback Rider: Jack has been extensively trained in the way of riding and fighting on horseback from across the land. His skills as a rider allows him to ride alien creatures as mounts.
Highly-Adept Strategist: Jack displays an exceptional strategist skills in combat, using it to defeat an entire army of robot kill-drones through setting up traps and utilizing his resources effectively. He likely obtained these skills through his travels while growing up.
Weapon/Armor Crafting: Prior to his battle with the Beetle Drones, Jack was able to craft practical armor and weapons for himself and his steed using resources he could find.
Survival Skills: Living among Aku's Orwellian regime greatly limits the places Jack can visit for shelter or even a meal even when he has money; thus he frequents living in the wild and foraging and hunting his own food. As such he trained long ago the means to secure his own food in the wild, capable of setting traps or outright killing the animal himself. Thus he has a subset of skills such as Stalking and Concealment to aid in his obtaining food. He also knows how to cook and is aware of basic medicine.
Stealth/Infiltration: Jack is proficient in stealth and infiltration. His skills in this area is akin to that of ninjitsu and is a match for a robotic super-Ninja.
Various Knowledge Skills: Jack has numerous skills of the mind, including astronomy, ancient history, hieroglyphics, navigation, and sailing.
Mortal Limitations: Jack may display superhuman ability and skill but he is not completely beyond human. He can be injured and even killed like any human, and he requires food, water, rest, and oxygen to survive.
Past Defeats: Jack is not undefeated. He has been overcome and defeated in the past. Such individuals that have defeated him include the Imakandi, a group of proud and honorable alien hunters, and the Guardian, a mysterious being who defends a special portal through time. While the Imakandi did have a number advantage and other unique abilities, and the Guardian is destined to be defeated by Jack, it still stands that Jack can be defeated.
Jack has defeated numerous foes of various types. He has destroyed entire armies of killer-robots, demons, aliens, and monstrosities. He has defeated numerous bounty hunters and assassins. He has overcome almost powerful foes such as X9, Demongo, the Ultra-Bots, and The Ninja. He has even defeated Aku on numerous occasions, only failing to finish him off. He is constantly fighting and surviving in a hospitable world. Overall, Jack does more before 12 than many heroes do in an entire day.
Overall, Samurai Jack is perfect for the show! He has the weapons, the skill, the ability, and the shear awesomeness to be in a Death Battle!
As a badass samurai/ronin warrior with a sword capable of cutting through vertually anything, abilities that stand at superhuman, and skills almost unmatched, Jack has many possible opponents to face.
Goemon Ishikawa XIII is the thirteenth generation of renegade samurai, a descendant of the historical figure Ishikawa Goemon. He is usually quiet and participates in Lupin III's exploits less frequently than Jigen. He is a master swordsman and martial-artist, capable of feats of superhuman ability. He is armed with Zantetsuken ("iron-cutting sword", Ryusei "shooting star" in the manga), a supernatural katana capable of slicing through nearly anything.
Probability: Very High - Both Goemon and Jack have superhuman speed and reflexes, utilize underrepresented martial skills, and wield magical swords capable of cutting through virtually anything. This is nothing less than a perfect match.
Afro, or better known as Afro Samurai, is an incredibly talented swordsman who's father was decapitated in front of his own eyes as a child. That traumatic experience caused an innocent little boy to have a mind flustered with revenge. He was taken in by the Sword Master and made into one of the deadliest warriors around, holding the title of the "number 2 killer" until he finaly kills "number 1".
Probability: High - Afro vs Jack is an extremely popular matchup. Both pack superhuman attributes, master swordsmanship and swords of extrodinary sharpness and resiliance. However, Jack's mastery of martial arts and tactics along with his largly superior sword overshadow anything Afro has. Because of this, this is not a perfect opponent for Jack but still a great one.
Formerly known as the legendary hitokiri of the Meiji Revolution, Himura Batt?sai, Himura Kenshin is a legendary hitokiri turned into a ronin seeking redemption for the sins he has done as Batt?sai. He is a practitioner of Hiten Mitsurugi-ry?, a swordsmanship style that grants him "godspeed". His weapon of choice is Sakabat?, a katana that has a blade on the opposite side, making it unfit for killing and ment as a holy sword.
Probability: High - While Jack wields a greater amount of martial skills and wields the largely superior sword, Himura's superhuman speed and mastery with the sword make him a great opponent for Jack.
Yajirobi is a wild and stout ronin with a dislike for social activity and an insatiable appetite. Despite his obesity and desire to avoid fighting, he is exceptionally strong and swift in his movement. He is also highly skilled with his katana, which is so sharp that it can cleanly slice through things far wider than the blade is long.
Probability: Very High - Yajirobi's superhuman attributes, mastery of swordsmanship and unarmed combat, and supernaturally-sharp blade makes him a perfect opponent for Jack. The two are also opposits in personality (Jack's kind and stoic personality vs Yajirobi's crude and gluttonous nature)

He started as a delinquent teen, caring little for the world save for his own interests. However, after a literal death experience and realization of his heritage, he has become a powerful and altruistic defender of the Human World. From the beginning to the end, his name will always be...
Growing up with a no-show of a father and an alcoholic mother, Yusuke never kept friends for long, save for his childhood friend Keiko Yukimura. Living a life of delinquency and constant fighting, Yusuke has grown a reputation as one of the baddest guys in his high school. However, his life would take an immense left-turn; one day, while skipping school, Yusuke saw a child run into the street as a car was coming. Yusuke shoves him out of the way. He is struck by the car, and killed. As a ghost, Yusuke is greeted by an atypical version of the Grim Reaper; a bubbly, cheerful young woman named Botan. She informs Yusuke that no one in Spirit World had expected him to die, risking his life to save the little boy. Not only was the child going to survive anyway, the selfless act of saving him gave him no home in the after life. Do to this, Yusuke is given another chance of life. While he was reluctant to return, Yusuke had witnessed the sadness his death has caused and he realizes he wants to return. He performs a number of good deeds to appease a "spirit beast" that will help him return to life, completing the process with a kiss from Keiko.
After his return, Yusuke now works as a Spirit Detective, an agent of the Spirit World that investigates the unatural and taking out demons seeking to cause chaos in the Human World. After many encoutners with varous beings, Yusuke makes new-found allies in Kuwabara, a former rival of Yusuke turned defender of the Human World; Kurama, a Yoko (Demon Fox) infused in a human's body and a powerful master of the rose; and Hiei, a powerful demonic swordsman with unprecedented but hidden power. Yusuke has defeated numerous demons and spiritually-endowed humans, slay the younger Toguros to win the Dark Tournament, and overcome six of the Sensui Seven before finally meeting his demise at the hands of former Spirit Detective turned rogue Shinobu Sensui. What no one foresaw was that an unknown part of Yusuke's heritage would bring him back to life and raise his power to S Class, the most powerful class of all demons and spirit-empowered mortals. Yusuke found that he is a Mazoku, a descendant of the Y?kai Clan. He would then face off against Shinobu again but was possessed by an unknown being, using him to effectivly kill Shinobu. After his possession, Yusuke would face off against the one who possessed him: Toshin Raizen, a powerful demon lord and one of the Three Kings of Makai... and the ancestral father of Yusuke. As he was coming to the end of his life, Toshin decided to train Yusuke so to take his place as one of the Three Kings.
After training under Toshin, Yusuke would become one of the most powerful beings in the universe but did not want to take his ancestor's throne. As such, Yusuke decides to hold a tournament to find who is next to be the new Third King. Despite being one of the most powerful warriors, Yusuke was defeated by the Demon Lord Yomi, who would be defeated by the good hearted Enki. With no need to worry about the demon world with Enki in charge, Yusuke is finally given a chance to enjoy life.
For more in-depth information, click
After his return to life the first time, Yusuke was imbued with spirit energy, which enhances his physical abilities and allows him to produce blasts of spirit energy. After dying a second time, Yusuke was reborn as a Mazoku and was able to harness his demon energy, magnifying his power up to S Class, the highest classification for any empowered being can have. It is staited that a lower S Class demon is capable of world-wide devistation. It is also stated that a mid-S Class demon can take on hoards of A Class demons and capable of destroying the Earth completely. Yusuke is Upper S Class, meaning he has more than enough power to destroy worlds.
This is Yusuke's signature move. He concentrates his Spirit Energy into his right index finger and releases it as a projectile. After channeling his energy, he pulls the trigger in his mind when he wants to fire the "bullet." The Spirit-Gun blast can range in size from a small shot (at this point it was only twice as strong as his punch), to a full-sized cannon blast, to a near atomic-explosion, as demonstrated in the demon world tournament.
Initially, Yusuke can only fire the spirit gun a limited number of times per day. At first, early in his commission as Spirit Detective, he can only use it once per day, but by the beginning of the Dark Tournament, after rigorous training under Genkai, Yusuke can use it four times per day. After this, the number of bullets did not increase, but the strength of the individual bullets did. Eventually he gains the ability to shoot the spirit gun with virtually unlimited ammo in the anime, as shown in his fight against Yomi. It was originally given to him by Spirit World to fight off demons as required during his cases, but later becomes his signature move. Yusuke can deliberately weaken his gun so that it merely stuns the opponent rather than kill them, as shown by its use on Kuwabara.
In his battle against the Younger Toguro, Yusuke uses up all his remaining energy to summon a gigantic energy bullet.
This is the demon energy version of the Spirit-Gun. After he is reborn as the Mazoku, Yusuke gains the ability to fire his demon energy from his index finger. It is a vastly powerful attack. Yusuke fires a concentrated crimson blast of powerful demon energy that inflicts greater damage than a normal Spirit Gun did prior to his transformation. By the end of the series Yusuke is able to fire both his spirit and demon gun with virtually unlimited ammo, so long as he has energy.
An ultimate version of his Spirit Gun, where an intense concentration of energy is released to create a devastating energy attack capable of annihilating anything. He first uses this upon receiving Raizen's power, and kills Shinobu Sensui with it while under Raizen's control.
Yusuke gathers spirit energy into his fist to form a large blast of spirit energy from it to shoot out in less powerful but many blasts. While the technique is not as powerful as the Spirit Gun, a few advantages it has is that the shots are widespread, which makes it highly effective against quick or invisible opponents or large numbers of weak enemies. Yusuke first used this technique against a group of thugs, who were controlled by the Demon World Insects. It may not be the same technique, but Yusuke used a punch with multiple spirit gun blasts (used on Yomi but had no effect probably because spirit shotgun has weaker bullets.)
Yusuke shoots two Spirit Guns in rapidfire. This technique has more force than the combined power of two Spirit Guns due to the fact that the second bullet pushes the first bullet as well, giving it more offensive power, to the point it could pierce Chu's giant Demon Energy Ball (Chu comments that the force of a single Spirit Gun would have been consumed). This technique was only used against Chu in the finals of the first round of the Dark Tournament by using Yusuke's remaining Spirit Gun shots together. While not mentioned in the English anime, a side effect from using this advanced technique caused Yusuke to temporarily lose the ability to use his Spirit Gun prior to the match against the Dr. Ichigaki Team due to his inexperience at manipulating Spirit Energy. Later in the anime, Yusuke uses a variation of this when he tries to break though Yomi's Demon Energy Absorption Wall during the Demon World Tournament.
Yusuke uses it to turn his entire body into a catalyst for his Spirit Energy. Instead of using his index finger to focus energy, Yusuke uses his entire body for this attack. This makes for extremely-powerful close-range attacks that negate the opponent's attack, but it's extremely difficult and dangerous to use. This was first seen being used against Jin in the Dark Tournament Saga. He tried using this against Sensui, in the original Japanese version, but was kicked out of range before he could do anything. It also has some healing properties, as he is able to heal from the wounds Kazuya inflicted when he shot at him, close range.
After his atavism, Yusuke temporarily transforms into this Raizen-inspired demon form whenever his emotions, most likely negative ones like anger, run high. Raizen took over Yusuke's body without Yusuke's will to do so, as Raizen believed he would've lost to Sensui otherwise. The full strength of this form is unknown, but it greatly increased his speed and strength to easily dominate against an opponent who had a slight advantage over him. Given Yusuke's statement about his strength and Sensui's being nowhere near what it was during his possession, it can be assumed it would be equal to Raizen's strength at that point.
Natural Fighter:Yusuke enjoys a good brawl, and seems to prefer fighting with his fists, though he specializes in long range projectile techniques that destroy foes from a distance or many foes at once. Thus when he fights to defeat the opponent, for the sake of efficiency he will tend to strike from afar with his spiritual projectiles (when using Spirit Gun, his face rarely shows the satisfaction he has when fist-fighting), but will fight using his physical skills if he wants to enjoy a good battle. A tactic he sometimes employs is to fight with his fists at close range, and once the opponent leaps back to dodge an attack, Yusuke will shoot a Spirit Gun at them.
While Yusuke prefers to use his fists in a fight, he will use any type of blow (punch or kick) to attack his opponent like when he kicked the Younger Toguro in the face to attack and avoid Tuguro's punch. Yusuke is also a fan of mixed martial arts and it seems likely that he has taken more than a few moves from watching matches. Unless he is in a dangerous situation, Yusuke is a very aggressive fighter and rarely thinks before making a move, even firing a Spirit Gun at Sensui and realizing too late it may harm Kuwabara. Overall, One would describe Yusuke as an instictive fighter. His ability to read and attack his opponents comes from a high innate fighting sense rather than practiced study.
Due to his experience as a delinquent, Yusuke knows quite a few street-fighting techniques. He has a very hard head, which results in a very powerful headbutt, which is apparently stronger than Chu's who's own headbutt was known to have broken rocks. He also has a body blow rush technique called the Intestine Killer. Shura and Yomi describe him as using "No cheap moves or any real form to his fighting at all." and "He fights simply to enjoy the true nature of it."
Quick Thinking: Before becoming an S Class, Yusuke was reliant on his quick wit to figure things out. With his fight with Genki, Yusuke found the demon to be invulnerable externally but was able to shove a log in Genki's mouth and use it to fire a Spirit Gun into his mouth and kill the demon. When battling against a electricity powered being, Yusuke used the rubber souls of his shoes to defend himself against it. After a while, Yusuke didn't need it to think carefully, as his shear power surpassed anything that could be thrown at him.
Unprecedented Tenacity: Yusuke is extremely tenacious, never backing down from a fight. The best way to get him to stop is by knocking him out. When human lives are dependent on him fighting, he will fight to the death.
Crazy Luck: One of Yusuke's greatest attributes is his shear luck. When he was still learning, Yusuke was able to defeat many powerful foes simply through shear luck.
Ignorant Tendencies: Yusuke has been noted on many occasions to be rather unintelligent, and, at times, just plain stupid. His tests scores are frequently low, with one being only 12%.
Implosive: Rarely does Yusuke think before a fight. He is brash and implosive, going into any fight without a second thought. This may relate to his love for fighting in general.
Cocky: Yusuke is pretty cocky at times. He is highly confident in himself and believes there is a way to win.
Yusuke has done a lot in his 4 years as a spirit detective and defender of Human World. He has defeated numerous demons and other dangerous threats and has saved the balance of the worlds on multiple occasions. While he has taken defeat on a few occasions, these tend to be either against beings FAR above his league or to a hard end.
Yusuke Urameshi is a young but powerful and experinced heroand a perfect combatant for Death Battle!
I am sorry to any for not including more sources. I am unfamiliar with most of the games and noncannon films so I'm not mentioning them as much as I'd like.
Yusuke Urameshi is a cocky, foul mouthed human-demon hybrid of extrodinary power and a heart of gold. He needs an opponent of equal power.
Dante is a human-demon hybrid, the second son of the demon Sparda and the human Eva, and the younger twin brother of Vergil. When his mother was murdered by a wrathful demon and his brother turned to evil, Dante dedicated his life to exterminating evil demons and other malevolent supernatural forces. He works as a paranormal mercenary, private investigator, and vigilante Devil Hunter.
Probability: Very High - A powerful, human-demon hybrid who lives to combat evil forces as an investigator and demon hunter. Sounds like Yusuke. Sounds like a perfect match up!
Inuyasha (???, "Dog Forest Spirit") was an inu hany?, son of the Inu no Taish? and human Izayoi. He was pinned to a sacred tree by a sacred sealing arrow shot by the priestess Kiky? after he attempted to steal the Shikon no Tama. Kagome Higurashi released him from the seal fifty years later, but soon after, she accidentally shattered the Shikon Jewel into hundreds of fragments. They reluctantly agreed to work together as a team to recover all of the fragments that had scattered across Feudal Japan before they fell into the wrong hands.
Probability: Medium - Despite being a popular matchup, I don't know if Inuyasha stacks up to Yusuke in power. Besides, I don't think its a very good series.
Ichigo Kurosaki is a Human who has Shinigami powers. He is also a Substitute Shinigami. Ichigo is the son of Isshin and Masaki Kurosaki, and older brother of Karin and Yuzu. Ichigo has been instramental in protecting the world and combating evil in their many forms.
Probability: High - Ichigo vs Yusuke is another frequently requested match. Both have similar personalities, are great heroes who have protected the world, and are noted as being among the most powerful combatants in their worlds. A decent match up.

The Batman, the Dark Knight, is one of the most badass non-superhuman superheroes around. Who can ignore his skill in battle and solving problems? So who could possibly match the Batman's intellect, physical perfection, and combat mastery? Well, it wasn't Batman's first choice but there is no villain more dangerous than the Dark Knight's arch nemesis. He is the Clown Prince of Crime, the Jester of Genocide, The Thin White Duke of Death, the Harlequin of Hate, the Ace of Knaves, and The Mirthful Menace. He is...
"All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day. You had a bad day once. Am I right? I know I am. I can tell. You had a bad day and everything changed. Why else would you dress up like a flying rat? You had a bad day, and it drove you as crazy as everybody else... Only you won't admit it!"
Little, if any, history of the Joker is known. Accounts of the Joker's origins have been varied and numerous. He himself has told the story of how he came to be with several different variations, saying that sometimes he remembers it one way, sometimes another; and that if he has to have a past, he "[prefers] it to be multiple choice." Despite this, the story always ends the same way: a man falls into a vat of deadly chemicals and becomes the psycho is known (and loved) as the Joker.
The Joker is obsessed with Batman, the pair representing a yin-yang of opposing dark and light force; the Joker is colorful, humerous, chaotic, and evil and Batman is dark, solem, lawful, and good. Murder, theft, and terrorism, no crime is beyond the Joker, and his exploits are a theatrical performance that are funny to him alone. Spectacle is more important than success for the Joker, and if it is not spectacular it is boring. Although the Joker claims indifference to everything, he secretly craves Batman's attention and validation.
There is no true reason behind the Joker's madness. The primary hypotheses of the Joker is he's criminally insane beyond an equal. Some believe he is the emboyment of chaos; unpredictable, uncontrollable, and unstoppable. One hypothesis is that the Joker actually exists in a state of almost "super-sanity". It is speculated that he redefines his own personality every day. This explains why sometimes he appears as a horribly sadistic lunatic one day while acting like a simple mischievous clown other days. Some say he just "wants to watch the world burn".
No matter the case, the Joker is among the most dangerous individual in the world, if not the universe. In The Joker: Devil's Advocate, it is stated that the Joker has killed over 2,000 people but his body count is more than like greater than what is stated. During the events of Emperor Joker, the Joker had successfully destroyed the earth and near most the cosmos. Thankfully, the events were undone but I goes to show how dangerous a man the Clown Prince of Crime really is. Even death has proven ineffective in keeping this smiling psycho down. Wether it's falling great heights, taking several bullets, gettin electricuted, falling into the grasp of carniverous predators, or having his face cut off, the Joker keeps coming back to spead chaos and destruction where ever he goes.
A deadly poison that infects his victims with a ghoulish rictus grin as they die while laughing uncontrollably. This venom comes in many forms, from gas to darts to liquid poison, and has been his primary calling card from his first appearance. The Joker is capable of making Joker Venom out of nearly anything, once even escaping from Arkham Asylum by creating it with chemicals he found in a janitor's closet.
Perhaps it is over-compansation. Perhaps its a phalic gag. In any case, The joker's 21 inch long revolver is one killer handcannon. In Tim Burton's Batman, this revolver packed enough firepower to shoot down the Bat Jet in one shot.
The Joker often used a modified novelty joy buzzer strapped to the palm of his hand. The buzzer administered a lethal dose of electricity into anyone who came into contact with it. This device is capable of harming and even killing superhumans.
Sticking with the Joker's love for comedy and gore, he will commonly incorporate a clichéd but all-out deadly mallet to bludgeon people to death. When he can't have it, a sledge hammer will do.
You know why the Joker likes knives? Guns are too quick. You can't savor all the... little emotions. In their last moments, people show you who they really are. Big knives, small knives, knives have a nitch in the Joker's life. Helps him put a SMILE on his face, as well as yours.
Joker is an expert at bomb making and has even bought nuclear weapons. He loves using time bombs and uses grenades in battle, though they may be disguised as harmless objects like toys, dolls, balls or marbles. He also finds enjoyment in using RPGs, rockets, missiles, and other explosive projectiles.
The Joker loves guns. When he's not firing oversized revolvers or joke guns, he's packing high-powered revolvers, machine pistols, Tommy Guns, and other firearms of auto and semi-auto nature.
Deadly Joke Weapons
The Joker's greatest asset is his shear creativity, utilizing weapons that are a joke in appearance but deadly and effective in use. Razor-sharp playing cards, acid-spitting flowers, explosive chattering teeth, explosive cigars capable of leveling buildings, cyanide-laced cream pies, toy "Bang" guns that also shoot out the "Bang" flag as a harpoon; if it has comedic value, the Joker has weaponized it. The Joker is unpredictable in that he will use any kind of weapon afforded him.
The Joker's arsonal is not the only things he uses, as the Clown Prince of Crime will use whatever itemis given to him. He even popularized the crowbar before Gordan came around.
Unique Physiology: Due to his chemical submergence, Joker has gained beyond average advantages over normal humans as well as further exposure has tainted his physiology.
Cheating Death: The Joker has cheated death numerous times, even in seemingly inescapable and lethal situations. He has been, among other things, caught in explosions, electrocuted, shot repeatedly, and dropped from great heights, but he always returns to once again wreak havoc.
Cosmic Awareness: The Joker has, at times, shown to be fully aware of being a comic book character, even directly talking to the reader. However, most characters ignore this, due to the fact that he is criminally insane.
Indomitable Will: The Joker's insanity, or his frame of mind, leaves him immune to the Spectre's judgement, though warranted, as Batman explained once that the Joker doesn't actually know what is right and wrong, a crucial understanding the Spectre needs to judge. In a way, one has to know one's deeds are evil or wrong for the Spectre to judge, and the Joker doesn't. Also, both Jim Corrigan and Hal Jordan Spectres have had major problems with navigating the Joker's mind, Corrigan even managed to get lost in it and Jordan literally was blasted out of his boots to the moon when he tried.
Disguise: Joker was able to use skin pigments and face relaxers to disguise himself as a new orderly at Arkham Asylum named "Eric Border". Joker's disguise was so convincing, he was able to fool even Batman for several months before returning to his clown persona.
Genius Level Intellect: The Joker is portrayed as highly intelligent and skilled in the fields of chemistry and engineering, as well an expert with explosives. From his first appearance onward, he has been consistently portrayed as capable of hijacking broadcasts - usually news programs - of both the television and radio varieties.
Hand-to-Hand Combat (Weak to Incredible): The Joker has moderate skill in hand to hand combat. Over the years it has been shown that although Batman is stronger, the Joker is faster and more agile, and his fighting style is chaotic and difficult to predict. The Joker has been known to be able to hold his own in hand-to-hand combat against Batman, however every time he is subdued by Batman, it is through physical force. However, the Joker has proven to be very skilled in the area of martial arts as well, this being proven when beating the Batman once in a fight without "cheating". However, this skill in fighting can also be questioned, due to different artists having different reincarnations of the Joker.
Heightened Dexterity: The Joker is extremely fast and agile. He is capable of matching, if not surpassing, Batman in shear speed and dexterity.
Marksmanship: The Joker's skill with guns never varies and is always good. He is capable of shooting vertually any gun he is given, from
Intimidation: Joker is adept at torturing his victims endlessly, including shooting Batgirl, torturing Robin to death and beating Damian into submission.
Charisma: The Joker displays unnatrual charisma. He is always able to gather goons to follow him and he even attracts Harley Quin to him. Something about that giant horrifying smile attracts the insane.
Completely Unpredictable: The Joker's most deadly attribute is his shear unpredictability. Few individuals are able to identify a pattern in his actions, and none can truly predict what he'll do next.
Human Limits: The Joker is the most dangerous human-level villain around. But that's just it: human. He can still be knocked out, mortally wounded, and crippeled as any human could be. The Joker has even been permanently killed for good in various different universes (Fell to his death in Batman, electrocuted to death in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, died from the side-effects of the Titan Venom in Batman: Arkham City, and evisorated by Superman in Injustice: Gods Among Us).
Mental Insanity: While the Joker's madness is his deadliest attribute, it is also his greatest weakness. The Joker is more incline to stop what acts he is doing, simply because it's boring. He will even forgo god-like power if he loses interest in it. His supposed "super-insanity" also modulates his capabilities from fully dangerous to almost harmless. He will flip plans on a flip of a dime, even when the flip is for the worse.
All Pizzazz: The Joker is all about Performan, Presentation, and Theatrics. When he doesn't have such, he won't accept it. The Joker cares too much about the presintation of his work that the need for showmanship will get in the way.
The Joker has a near endless list of feats under his name .To the Bat-Family alone,he has killed Jason Todd (the second Robin), brutally crippled Barbra Gordon (Batgirl) and beat Damion Wayne (the fourth Robin) to submission. He has been able to hold his own in combat with Batman, beaten and even killed various superhumans, and proven himself a major threat to high-powered superheroes and the world as a whole. Oh, and he has the highest death count of any human level supervillain, and that's not including the number of planets he's destroyed. I can't list off all his feats but I can safely say, the man is a force to be reconed with.
The Joker is an excellent combatant for a Death Battle but not a typical one. The Joker needs an opponent capable of matching his mind, blood lust, and madness.
Not every source will be noted, namely as there is WAY too many to list.
The Joker is a dangerous madman with one of the most powerful minds to date. A possible opponent must match his madness, his intellect, and his desire to destroy. Here is a short list of possible opponents:
Johann Shmit grew up in Germany through the depresion an angery person, with anger and hate flowing through him all his life. One day, Shmit was taken under the tutalage of Adolf Hitler in an attempt to craft the "perfect nazi". Hitler soon gave Johann a red mask shaped like a skull, leading to the true begining of the Red Skull. The Red Skull would stand as the second most powerful man in Germany and would battle against Captain America, a man who embodied what the Red Skull was not. Through cloning and various plans, the Red Skull effectivly gained immortality and has nearly brought the world under his feet. Thankfully, he can't handel when one Mighty Shield comes bashing into his red face.
Probability: Very High - Just as the Joker is the opposit of Batman, the Red Skull is the opposit of Captain America. Both are psychotic, psychopathic, sadistic, and all out evil. However, they are both opposites. The Joker is chaotic and colorful, the Red Skull is dark-dressed and tyrannical. Remember, the Joker may be a criminal lunatic but he's an American criminal lunatic.
Fun Fact: The Red Skull's creator, Joe Simon, was inspired by the sight of a melting hot-fudge Sunday that resembled a human figure. He initially thought of naming his character "Hot Fudge", but thanks to a wrinkled cherry on top that resembled an exposed red skull, he decided to name the character "Red Skull", a FAR better and more memorable name.
An amoral industrialist head of Oscorp, Norman Osborn took the Goblin Formula (really?) which enhanced his physical abilities and intellect but also drove him to insanity. He adopted the Halloween-themed identity Green Goblin (wow, even lamer), dressing in a goblin costume, riding on a bat-shaped "Goblin Glider" (Jesus, this guy got a goblin fetish?), and using an arsenal of high-tech weapons, notably grenade-like "Pumpkin Bombs", to terrorize New York City.
Probability: Medium to High - This is an excellent match up at first look: Both are intelligent, insane, use ridiculous weapons, and love to give crazy smiles. However, a major factor that makes this fight unbalanced is their insanity: the Joker's insanity is a benefit as it makes him unpredictable and dangerous without disrupting his intellect and success; Osborn's insanity, on the other hand, is a complete detriment and the primary reason why he fails so much. Joker's madness is his greatest strength but Green Goblin's madness is his greatest weaknesses. Still, both are smiling super-criminals with a taste for thematic and chaos.
Fun Fact: It was hinted that Peter Parker (Spiderman) had gotten Gwen Stacy pregnant. However, do to recon, she actually had children with Norman Osborn. So Norman, who was probably in his 30s or 40s before the kids were born, had sex with Gwen, who was probably in her 20s at the time, and got her pregnant? The reason for this was that having Spiderman have two adult children running around made him look too old. You know, seeing as Gwen was around Peter's age when she had the kids, it STILL makes Spidy look old. Also, Norman & Gwen? Ew.
Oh, Sweet Tooth. Who could talk about the Joker in a Death Battle without mentioning the horrific mascot of Twisted Metal. While most of the games gave little backstory to this killer clown, Twisted Metal: Black gave us his history as a mass murdering psychopath cursed at his execution to suffer the fires of hell on his head BECAUSE he's a mass murdering psychopath. Sweet Tooth takes combat in his heavily modified ice-cream truck to battle his opponents. When not in his truck, he likes to use a knife to cut people up.
Probability: Low to Medium - While Sweet Tooth and the Joker are scary clowns with a taste for carnage, the compatibility of these two as opponents is wavy. The Joker prefers to be on foot in combat and use a wide array of gadgets. Sweet Tooth, on the other hand, is a Vehicular combatant, relying on his modified Ice-Cream truck and lots of guns to battle. On foot, Sweet Tooth would stand little of a chance against the Joker. The two are perfect in idea but not in application.
Fun Fact: In Frosty Treats, Inc. v. Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc., Frosty Treats, Inc. filed a lawsuit against Sony contending that Sweet Tooth infringed on the company's trademarks for their "Safety Clown", a set of decals on their ice cream trucks and directs children to cross the street behind the van so that passing cars are more likely to see them. However, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit ruled against the trademark claim because, even if Sweet Tooth was derivative, it was unlikely to cause confusion among consumers.
Who do YOU think should the Joker should face in a Death Battle? Who should I add to the list? Comment below and give me your thoughts.

In 2071, roughly sixty years after an accident with a hyperspace gateway made the Earth uninhabitable, humanity has colonized most of the rocky planets and moons of the Solar System. Amid a rising crime rate, the Inter Solar System Police (ISSP) set up a legalized contract system, in which registered bounty hunters (also referred to as "Cowboys") chase criminals and bring them in alive in return for a reward. Among these cowboys is a dashing man with a Jewish name and a cocky, sarcastic attitude...
Spike was a rising member of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate, where he worked with his then-partner, Vicious. Both were mentored by Mao Yenrai. Badly injured after a shoot-out in the slums on Mars, Spike stumbled to Julia’s home, who at that time was Vicious’ girlfriend. The pair fell in love while she nursed him back to health. It was during this time that Spike decided to leave the Syndicate with Julia.
Vicious, upon discovering this, threatened that Julia would face death for her betrayal should she go through with the plan and revealed that he intended to kill Spike for his treachery to both him and the Syndicate. In response, Spike managed to fake his own death by engaging in a gunfight alone in a church against unidentified opponents, which allowed Red Dragon to forget about him. He waited for Julia at a predetermined rendezvous point so they could escape and be free but she never arrived.
Some time after his faked death, Spike met the former ISSP cop turned bounty hunter Jet Black, and became partners. Spike moved onto Jet’s ship, the Bebop, and the two men worked together for three years before the other crew members joined. They are later joined by Faye Valentine, an amnesiac con artist; Edward Wong, an eccentric girl skilled in hacking; and Ein, a genetically-engineered Welsh Corgi with human-like intelligence.
As time went and past, everyone would be struck with dark memories of the past, such as Jet's reasons for leaving the ISSP, Faye's past as a woman from Earth injured in an accident and cryogenically frozen to save her life, and Spike's history with the Syndicate and those seeking to hunt him down.
Spike Spiegel's signature pistol is a customized IMI Jericho 941 R chambered in 9x19mm. He has installed custom grips and a frame mounted laser sight on the right side, although we never see him use it.
