Well I finally got a chance to play Metal Gear Rising demo that was included in the Zone of the Enders HD Collection. I already know in my head that this was not gonna be the same game as all the other MGS series that we all know, so I wasn't getting my hopes up. After playing it for about close to an hour, I gotta say, I'm diggin it
The gameplay was pretty cool and simple to pick up, it brings me back to other hack n'slash games that I've played like Devil May Cry, and oddly enough, Zone of the Enders (which does kinda explains why it was included to the HD collection, and does have that simular feel IMO). but what keeps me going was the Blade mode, it was pretty sweet. like the idea of cutting enemies and things into pieces as much as you like, wheither i perfer the right joystick or just pressing sqaure and triangle, its all good. I notice there was no block or counter button, I even looked at the page were it shows you the controls and it not on it, so I'm hoping that maybe its part of the upgrade ability in the full game once your collect those arms that the Doc was talking about on the demo. But overall I did enjoy the experience hack m' slash in the Metal Gear world
As far as the Story goes, its still a little weird for me of the fact that it does take place of few years after MGS4, but at the same time I understand that its time to move on for the next chapter. Seeing these new Characters in the Raiden Saga was like being introduce to strangers out of nowhere, lol. but I think as the story progress we get to know there backgrounds a little better. I'm more interested to find out more of Raiden's new Rival, the Antonio Banderres look a like dude, from what i heard that dude is responsible for what Raiden has become, sre of the full details but will find out. That and that freaking Cyborg Chainsaw Cat? as an Ally? that ill like to see.
Overall: With all the chances and Platinum Games stepping up wanting to help out, and after playing this, I do wanna get this game for sure. At first I questioned it over a year ago after watching the Spike VGA when they Revengence but, it did made me scratch my head and thinking "what?" and im pretty sure we all did the same. But once I got the controller in my hand and gave it a shot, I 'll admit I did like it, for what the demo has offerd, can't imgaging whats gonna be in store for this game. If you all did played the demo, what did you all think? let me know.
