    • More Ways to DOOM.

There have been a staggering number of DOOM mods over the years, to the point where it's hard to tell which ones are good and which ones... don't. So, to assist future searches for the best the modding community has to offer, I've put together a list of what I consider to be some of the finest mods around. Please note that not all mods will work together, however there are some mods here that work wonderfully together (Beam Flashlight + PSX DOOM TC = Intense atmosphere). Also keep in mind that I cannot cover every single great mod, but I may add more to the list in the future (don't count on that though). Finally, I claim absolutely zero credit for any content you may find in these mods. I'm just a guy trying to spread the word about how amazing Russian Overkill is (seriously, make that one a priority, it's spectacular). Oh, and if for whatever reason any one of these links becomes broken, don't bother asking me to fix it. Just type the name of the mod in Google and do some research of your own. With all that said, please enjoy:

      Released:
      WIP:

As for playing these mods, you'll need the .wad files for DOOM II and The Ultimate DOOM to run most of these, although some of them work without them (see Action DOOM 2, Chex Quest 3 and Harmony). Finding these files is something you'll have to do on your own. You'll also need a DOOM source port to play these mods. I personally recommend GZDoom for it's wide range of capabilities, as well as the fact that it works with pretty much every mod on this list (save for Serious Sam). In cases where GZDoom won't cut it, Zandronum is a suitable substitute, even preferable if you are big on multiplayer. With all that said, thank you for taking the time to read through my bulls*** list, and I wish you good demon hunting.

    • Red Dead Redemption, The "Proper" Way

[Even though I don't have the heart to delete this piece of s*** intro from just under a year ago, I would advise you to just skip it and get to the actual list.]

I'm not going to pretend that it is entirely unique for me to be a massive nitpicker of video games. However the things I complain about are generally things that others would sooner forget about. Case in point, my main issue with Red Dead Redemption is an issue that I have with several other games: lack of attention to options and menu navigation. What do I mean by this? Well aside from the inventory curiously occupying the button mapping which would normally be reserved for oh I don't know... the map, there are a few other issues I have with the menu interface. This brings me to the topic of this article: item and log ordering. This may sound like the stupidest thing ever to some of you (and if it does then you clearly haven't been keeping up with Microsoft or Miley Cyrus lately), but the order in which things are placed on a menu screen can actually be a big deal to some people (by that of course I mean me). In RDR, stranger missions and inventory items are the only things (to my knowledge) which are listed in the order they are assigned/completed/acquired. This massive OCD trigger for yours truly led me to consult the Rockstar Games Social Club, which contains a 100% Completion Checklist for the game in question (among other things). However, in order to find out what order they placed the stranger missions in, I had to play through the whole game myself, which some might see as defeating the point of this already near pointless article. I however took it as an opportunity to document this information which, I swear to god, I cannot find anywhere else on the web (no joke, GameFAQs, Neoseeker, none of them had it). To that end, I have created a carefully ordered list of missions (story and stranger alike), inventory items, and a few footnotes. To all 5 people who may find this helpful (including myself), please enjoy.

      RDR 100% Completion Notes:

  • About Me

I am but a humble hermit who happens to have a habit of... haphazardly ha- oh screw this, I'm just a gamer who's looking to make his inconsequential contribution to the ultimate knowledge database that is the internet. On my (few) posts you will find mostly lists containing information that can be difficult to come by in clear formats on the internet. Basically, I'm searching for things that provoke my OCD and writing down how to avoid them so no one else must suffer what I have (or, you know, you could just use that to judge me, it's not like I have feelings).
