      Hey guys Kenshiro3 here. Long time no blog. I've been kind of inactive on this site for the past year. I was turned off by the site's shift in focus. Well I'm back! Though not for the reasons you might think. I have returned for one reason and one reason only. To let you know how I feel about the new site design. Long story short; I am not a fan.

      The new look is generic as hell shit. It looks like the bastard offspring of Gamtrailers and Kotaku. White. Nothing but white everywhere. Where's the color? The layout is fine it just lacks the personality or color of v3, v4, & v5. As it is now It's virtually indistinguishable from almost every other site out there now.

      Part of what drove me off was the shift to more mainstream focus on content and news and away from community. The fact that my favorite contributors (Destin & Jared) left for greener pastures didn't help things either. NOW you are now virtually indistinguishable from every other web site out there.  CONGRATULATIONS ON SELLING OUT! Your Journey toward the Mainstream is now complete, as is my alienation! Good bye.

    • NEWS: NDAA Signed... This is How the Nation Dies

      On December 31st 2011, President Barack Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the fiscal year of 2012. Within it are clauses for the indefinite detainment without trial & suspension of ALL constitutional rights of US citizens labeled as or wanted in connection to terrorist suspects.

      The time has come when all three branches of our government. the Judicial, Legislative, & Executive branches, have committed treason by breaking their oaths, abandon their sworn duties of the protecting the constitution, safeguarding this nation against all threats foreign and domestic, protecting its people, safeguarding their rights.

      They turned have against them by passing into law a bill that completely nullifies the constitution & bill of rights & thus EVERYTHING this nation once stood for by declaring the US a battle ground and every one of its citizens a potential hostile enemy combatant. In short the US Government just declared war on its OWN CITIZENS! THAT MEANS YOU & ME! If that isn't tyrany I don't know what is.

      56 wise men once said:

      "When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

      I hoped it would never come to this. But, add one more to that list of traitors. Because I do believe that our government has 'evinced a design to reduce those under it to absolute despotism.' And I believe 'it is my DUTY to cast off such government & find new guards for our future security.'

    • iOS REVIEW: Double Dragon (iPhone/iPod)

      As a life long Double Dragon fanboy I have to admit that iOS version had & still has potential to be the BEST definitive version of the game. Sadly it is held back by a few mostly minor issues. That said it is still a VERY good game.

      The gameplay and art are like a beefed up version of Double Dragon Advance for the Gameboy Advance. Believe me when I say this is a VERY good thing, as DDA was EASILY one of the best games in the series. This time they added an unlockable characters & experience system to power up Billy & Jimmy. You with the full Double Dragon move set from the start however as you level up you learn new moves and abilities completely new to this game. Also each time you complete the game you unlock the bosses and regular enemies as playable characters. The graphic's have a colorful anime/comic book style to them. The animation is fantastic, fast, & crisp as is the gameplay on my 8gb iPod Touch 4. That said the game has some issues.

      The biggest issue/s involve the Virtual Pad controls. For the most part they are responsive and do their job well. However they lack the tactile response/feedback of physical controls ESSENTIAL for a game like this. As a result I often find my fingers "sliding off", pressing the wrong button, or missing them entirely. Another relatively minor issue (for me at least) is the fact that they take up 1/3 of the screen. For the most part this isn't an issue as the play area rarely dips below the lip of the controls & the developers have addressed this by adding a transparancy option for the Virtual Pad. Another problem is that Game Center integration is broken and doesn't work. The last problem is more of a Nitpick really, but could be a turn off for some people. The game's audio is completely mono... even with Headphones.

      Despite these issues the game remains very good. It's a solid remake that had the potential to be the best but sadly fell short because of them. I would LOVE to see a PSN or Xbox Live port of as it would fix the root of most of this game's problems, the virtual pad. If you have an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad and are fan of Double Dragon or Beat em Ups in general you owe it to yourself to give this game a try. It's EASILY worth the $2 price tag.
