    • Nintendo is planning a Youtube affiliate program.

Having been severely criticized for taking away the revenue of Lets Players and other content creators for using footage which is focused on Nintendo games, this option will now allow creators such as Chuggaconroy to continue to make their content without threatening their income.

Nintendo has released a statement on its twitter which when translated reads: "In addition, for those who wish to use our material more proactively, we are preparing an affiliate program in which a portion of the advertising profit is given to the creator. Details about this affiliate program will be announced in the future".

Now granted, as stated, this is only a portion of the revenue. However, it does indicate that Nintendo is starting to change its ways for the better and hopefully this will be a sign of things to come. It also may be organised similarly to other Youtube affiliate groups such as Polaris.  Furthermore, if successful, this could pave the way for similar programs from other gaming companies.  In the end, we will just have to wait and see.

    • Indie title Monochroma confirmed for Wii U and PS4 in 2014

Now you might be wondering what makes this kickstarter different from those which have failed. After all $80,000 is quite a small target compared to other projects. Well as it turns out, Monochroma was well under way even before its kickstarter campaign. In fact enough content had already been finished to create a PC demo with the extra crowd funding only being needed to complete the remaining 90 minute chapters of which there will be four in total.

In terms of what the game is about, it is a cinematic 2D puzzle platformer set in a heavily industrialized and darkened world where the main protagonist is a boy trying to help his injured brother. The game is very focused around the atmosphere created by its art style and the feeling of trying to look after a younger sibling.

    • Duck Tales gets HD Remake

Te remake is being developed by WayForward who previously worked on Mighty Switch Foce, Shantae and A Boy and his Blob. It seems as though Capcom has finally learned how not to be a douche to its fanbase.

Personally I'm looking forward to hearing a remastered moon theme. I am sure that there will be much fangasming from people.

    • Crytek picks up Vigil Staff to form new studio

The new studio will be lead by Vigil co-owner David Adams and consists of around 35 experienced developers, the majority of which are from the core Vigil team. THQ boss Jason Rubin later stated on Twitter following a report by Gamasutra "Great news for Vigil, at least the core team" and then added "Thanks to Crytek for saving as much as they could of such a fantastic team"

However the future of Vigil's main IPs is still unclear as Rubin then added that the "Darksiders and Red Faction IPs have not been auctioned yet". This therefore means that the IPs are most likely still remain with THQ. It is also unclear as to whether or not the game codenamed 'Crawler' being developed by Vigil at the time of THQ's closure will be continued under the new studio.

But at the very least we can't relax knowing that Crytek has secured at least 35 jobs. Thank you Crytek for bringing some hope in these dark times for the game industry.

    • [Rumor] Wii U release date and price could be revealed in September

Why was Nintendo's E3 2012 press conference so despised? Maybe the lack of Zelda or Metroid, for one. Or it could be the fact that instead of an awesome new Retro studios game we got crap Nintendo Land with fireworks. Well for many it was very simple, the lack of a release date and price.

Thankfully those details are set to be shown on September 13th during a Nintendo press event in New York.

Whilst it isn't confirmed, it is extremely likely. The event is being hosted by Reggie Fils-Aimes, the president of Nintendo of America. More still, both the launch date and pricing details for the Wii and 3DS were revealed in Reggie held press events in New York. Fingers crossed.
